artreimagined project for
domquartier museum salzburg
#ArtReimagined is a photographic project that began in 2024 from the collaboration between Zaira Zarotti and Anna Attems (@kunstfueruns).
Our goal is to bring the spirit of (old) masterpieces from museum collections to life through artistically staged photographs. By sharing insights about the artists and their works, we aim to highlight the treasures of art history and spark curiosity in our audience.
Social media offers a unique opportunity to share art with people around the world. Every day, thousands—if not millions—of individuals engage with art through Instagram.
This project was born from the desire to bring as many people as possible closer to the world of art through social media by sharing meaningful content—original works of art in their own right.
The second project in the #ArtReImagined series was created for @domquartier, inspired by the exhibition ’The Colors of la Serenissima’, a guest appearance by the @kunsthistorischesmuseumvienna at the Residenzgalerie Salzburg.
The purpose of this photographic series is to draw the viewers’ attention to the colors of artworks—the main theme of the exhibition, which features Venetian masterworks from Titian to Canaletto.
Artist statement:
Colors—or the natural pigments that humans have used since ancient times to paint—have always been a part of my life. From a young age, I learned their names by playing with the countless jars that held them, neatly arranged on the shelves of my family’s ateliers. Venetian master painters like Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese feel like distant relatives to me—the kind of names you often hear at home, and then, just around the corner, you find yourself face to face with them, as you might with familiar faces in any small Italian town.
That’s Venice: even if you don’t seek it out, you inevitably come across the masterpieces of the great painters. They become part of your DNA, shaping your visual culture and influencing how you perceive the world.
This is how my new series, #ArtReImagined, for the @domquartier was born. It’s my take on Venice, its colors—colors we can also find in the artist ateliers—and how they continue to live around us.
